Restoration/ Tooth Fillings

Conservation of the basic tooth structure is the very means on which the foundation of dentistry has been laid. Restorative materials have been used to repair the lost tooth structure since time immemorial. With time, there has been a geometric growth in the awareness of tooth-related problems. It is now easy to save a tooth by the intervention of the cavity process at the early stages.
Various tooth filling materials are available depending upon the site of the cavity. Tooth-colored fillings materials (GIC, Composites) have now greatly replaced non-tooth colored fillings (amalgam). Cavities if stopped at an early stage of progression can prevent the uneventful loss of the tooth.
The restoration of a tooth cavity is done by cavity preparation of the lesion to provide retention for the filling material. This is usually performed with the help of diamond cutting burs for effective removal of the decayed tooth structure. This is then followed by the placement of a suitable filling material of choice.
Usually, filling materials require a certain time for the completion of the setting reaction. This time varies from 12-24 hr for different filling materials. Some filling materials require polishing for a smooth finish which can be done after the setting reaction has culminated.
We as a dental clinic in Dwarka advise for early repair of the tooth cavities to prevent eventual tooth loss related problems. We do ensure to provide for the best available tooth-colored fillings at economical costs to the patients.

Ultrasonic Scaling And Polishing

Scaling and polishing serve as a method of removal of attached calculus from accessible and inaccessible sites of the tooth surface along with restored or rehabilitated structures present in the mouth.
Whenever we eat, a thin layer of food gets attached on to the tooth surface namely, Microfilm. This layer gets hardened with passage of time and forms plaque which is stickier as compared to microfilm. The formation of plaque is beneficial for the tooth surface as it prevents the friction between the colliding tooth surfaces while eating.
Plaque, when left unremoved by timely brushing, can lead to its hardening after 3 days. This hardened structure is called Calculus. Calculus leads to inflammation of gums which ultimately results in gum recession and underlying bone loss. This is often accompanied by bleeding from gums and foul odor from the mouth of the patients.
Ultrasonic scalers help in the removal of the calculus by providing vibratory movements at the tooth surface. These vibrations along with water dispensed from the scaler tip help in the removal of the attached calculus. Often removal of calculus from tooth surface is accompanied by bleeding during the treatment.
There may arise some sensitivity issues as a result of ultrasonic scaling due to root exposure following the removal of calculus. This can be taken care of by the use of sensitivity toothpaste as recommended by the dentist.
Roughness is often experienced by the patients after the completion of the scaling procedure. This can be dealt with polishing if necessary. Usually, the roughness on the inner tooth surfaces subsides within 3-4 days.
We recommend the use of mouthwashes coupled with anti-sensitivity toothpaste after the scaling procedure.
We as a dental clinic in Dwarka provide for Ultrasonic Scaling and polishing making sure that you leave with a brighter smile and improved confidence.

Teeth Whitening/Bleaching

Teeth whitening/bleaching involves the removal of tooth surface discolorations and stains which have been caused by paan or gutka chewing. It’s not a single visit procedure and may require multiple sittings in case of harder stains.
Before the bleaching process, a thorough ultrasonic scaling of the teeth is required if there is a calculus present on the tooth surface. This is generally followed by the polishing of the tooth surface by pumice application. The gingival protector is then applied which is cured by a fanning motion of the curing light for 20 sec. Once the gingival protector is hardened the bleaching material to be used is dispensed on to the tooth surface as a thin layer. This is then light cured for a specified amount of time as given in the instruction manual supplied with the bleaching kit. Once cured the bleaching agent is suctioned off from the tooth surface with water. Then the improvement in the shade of the teeth is checked with the help of a shade guide. If satisfactory is shade is not achieved then reapplication of the bleaching agent is to be done. As a good shade change is observed the gingival protector is removed from the gums.
The color of the teeth attained begins to fade away with the time which requires a re-bleach after 6-12 months if you require those sparkling white teeth again.
Bleaching procedure often leads to sensitivity in teeth and mild gum irritation which can be negated by the use of anti-sensitivity kinds of toothpaste and gum paints that are prescribed by the dentist after the completion of the bleaching treatment.
Often recession of gums with progressive age or due to some dental problems leads to exposure of the root surface. The root appears yellowish as compared to the tooth crown. This cannot be bleached and will retain their color even after bleaching.
For a brighter looking tooth and a beautiful smile, u can undergo the bleach treatment at our Dental Clinic in Dwarka where we provide for the best bleaching agent available in the market and that too at economical costs.

Root Canal Treatment/Endodontic Treatments

Death of a tooth occurs either due to injury or the progress of a carious lesion. Death of a tooth signifies the loss of vitality of the tooth i.e. loss of blood supply. Often there is a change in color or hue of the tooth with death. Over the counter medications can serve as a temporary remedy to provide relief. The only possible way to retain a dead tooth in the mouth is by performing R.C.T.(Root Canal Treatment).
R.C.T. not only helps in maintaining the tooth but also serves to maintain the necessary masticatory efficiency of the patient. It is usually performed under local anesthesia. It begins with drilling a hole in the center of the tooth with the help of a diamond cutting bur. Once the pulp chamber is reached a definite dip is felt. At this point, the roof of the pulp chamber is completely opened to have straight-line access to the root canals. Root canals are tunnel-shaped channels running within the root of the tooth. Root canals are a harbor for the bacteria which contaminate the tooth and eventually lead to the death of the tooth.
Once opened the root canals are filled with the help of manual instrumentation or rotary files. This is usually supplemented with the use of sodium hypochlorite which provides lubrication and the necessary disinfection required during the R.C.T. This is followed by the closure of the tooth with the temporary filling and the patient is given an antibiotic cover.
A definite amount of gap is provided between sittings for the infection to be subdued. This is subsequently followed by filling of GP cones in the filled root canals. Last but not least a permanent filling is provided for sealing of the remaining cavity.
We as a dental clinic in Dwarka provide for single as well multiple sitting RCT depending on the case. Appointments can be scheduled on an emergency basis to provide for necessary relief if required. We provide for rotary endodontic treatments coupled with digital radiography.

Orthodontic Care

Orthodontics is a branch of dentistry that is concerned with the diagnosis, intervention, prevention, and repositioning of maligned teeth and jaws to help achieve a better-aligned dentition with greater chewing efficiency. Correction of occlusion usually begins during the mixed dentition phase. Sometimes extraction of teeth is required to gain space necessary for correction of malocclusion.
Any orthodontic treatment begins with impression making which provides for the casts i.e. replica of the patient’s teeth in his/her absence. Casts help in determining the space available and formulation of an appropriate plan to help achieve the desired results at the end of the treatment. Informed consent is taken from the patient or the guardian before the beginning of the treatment.
Depending on the case available a removable appliance or a fixed mechanotherapy is provided. Minor space closure or little movements can be easily accomplished with the use of a removable appliance. The removable appliances are often dependent on the will of the patients which renders them useless if the patient is not willing to wear them. Inappropriate use of removal appliance leads to the mobility of the teeth followed by eventual tooth loss.
Fixed mechanotherapy is applied in cases where tooth alignment along with tooth movement is required. This is usually performed with the help of braces at fixed positions on the tooth surface assisted with archwires for desired tooth movements. It usually takes multiple visits for the case to complete. Visits are scheduled as per the treatment provided which is usually once per month. Maintenance of oral hygiene is an absolute necessity as braces provide an area where food lodgement can take place. The use of mouth wash is often recommended to prevent plaque formation.
After the completion of the treatment, retainers are provided for 9-12 months to prevent relapse. Retainers are either removable or fixed depending on the patient’s requirements.
We, as a dental clinic in Dwarka, provide for orthodontic treatments with the availability of stainless steel and tooth-colored braces as desired by the patient. Easy availability of appointments and thorough check-up of the patient makes us unique among the class of dentists in Dwarka. We even provide for the post-completion check-up of the patient ensuring the prevention of relapse in orthodontic cases.

Implants

Implant dentistry as a general practice in Dwarka has been flourishing as a means of fixed rehabilitation of the lost dentition post-extraction or for a missing tooth in general. An implant is a screw-shaped device surgically placed inside the bone to serve as the root part of the lost tooth.
The implant body is usually divided into 2 different parts namely, fixture and abutment. The part of the implant that is surgically placed inside the jawbone is called a fixture. It requires 3 months for the fixture to firmly adhere to the bone. This process of bone attachment is called osseointegration. Often soft diet and cold foods are recommended immediately after the implant placement procedure.
This initiates the process of loading the fixture with an abutment upon which the artificially placed crown is fixed. The part of the implant placed on top of the fixture with the help of a screw attachment is called the abutment. Abutment usually protrudes out of the gums and forms the crown part of the implant.
After the placement of the abutment, an impression is taken for the die formation. The die serves as the substitute of the abutment structure present in the mouth of the patient. Once the cast is obtained from the impression it is sent for the fabrication of the crown to the laboratory.
The crown received from the lab is then cemented to the abutment after properly checking and eliminating any high points if present. This marks the culmination of the procedure of implant placement.
We as a dental clinic in Dwarka endeavor to provide for world-class dental implant procedures at a reasonable cost. We also ensure to provide for post-implant placement appointments to take care of any emergencies if necessary.
